Description
Georgian period circa 1800 2 over 3 graduated mahogany chest of drawers with a mahogany top cross banded with walnut and ebony veneers and a central marquetry panel depicting oak leaves and acorns. All the drawers are pitch pine lined with mahogany cock beaded fronts featuring walnut and ebony cross banded veneers. The chest has a panel plank back and is raised on bracket feet.
Presented in original unrestored condition there are some historic repairs to the veneers and the top has fade line to the rear that is difficult to photograph. All the cock beading is intact and present and the drawers run well. Some bruising and minor knocks to the feet and mahogany carcase as expected for a piece of furniture over 200 years old. Overall it is in excellent condition with a great patina; an unusual and attractive piece of furniture.
