Description

Oil on Canvas of Montague Goodall. Montague Goodall was the son of the founder of Charles Goodall & Sons, the largest maker of playing cards in the 19th Century. They produced three quarters of all the playing cards in the mid 19th Century. This was painted around 1880 and hung in their factory until it closed in1922, then owned by the family until recently purchased directly.
Old re-lining and glazed in its original frame. Some damage to frame.
