Description

This is a rare Victorian handwritten accounts book for a goverment department. It details the checking and copying of plans and fees received for major construction projects around England by British companies. It covers railways, waterworks, bridges, canals and piers etc.
It dates from 1837 to the 1870's and mentions many companies uncluding Brunel for Isambard Kingdon Brunel and the construction of the Taff Vale Railway etc.
The book is vellum bound and is not quite full and does have some blank pages. The back of the book with fees and revenue stamps.

Good internal condition, vellum cover discoloured and very slight warp.
