19th Century French blue glass and pewter Bacchus claret jug. Light blue glass body and neck with heavy pewter mounting featuring a depiction of Bacchus to the front (Roman god of agriculture, wine and fertility, equivalent to the Greek god Dionysus) and lions heads.
